Creating an original myth was a lovely experience. It was fun to test my creative abilities and apply what I learned. There is a big difference between learning about myths and creating them. The main commonality between them is that they are both fun. Learning about mythology around the world was so interesting and it was fascinating to learn that different cultures with no contact used the same tropes. The most interesting forms of myths were ones involving trickster gods and creation myths. Having a thorough understanding of these kinds of myths allowed me to better create my myth. Learning about myths involved a lot of research and understanding of different cultures. For example, when my group looked into Thor it required us to have an understanding of Norse culture from thousands of years ago.
